The bridge originally spanned the Mud River in Milton, but it was relocated here to the pond in Pumpkin Park adjacent to the Cabell County Fairgrounds in 2001.

The bridge makes Pumpkin Park an interesting, informative, family-friendly stop year round, but, as its name suggests, the park especially shines in pumpkin season (October). That’s when the fairgrounds transform into a pumpkin fairy tale land for the annual West Virginia Pumpkin Festival.
