The Moonshine Store was once only a general store. It first opened its doors in 1912 to provide provisions to the surrounding community.

The family-owned store has been run by the Tuttle family for two generations now after it was purchased from the previous owner in 1982. It has become an integral part of the town of Martinsville and a destination for travelers that are passing through.

At the Moonshine Store, locals and travelers alike can pick up a variety of provisions and merchandise, but these things are not what draw the crowds here on a daily basis.

Each patty is a half-pound of fresh, unseasoned ground beef. They are hand-made and can be ordered as a single, double, triple, or quadruple (as pictured here). Everyone who orders a Moonshine Burger raves about it! You’ll just have to find out for yourself if it lives up to the hype.

The Moonshine Store is open from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m., Monday through Saturday and it is closed on Sunday. Keep in mind, too, that the grill is turned off at 12:30, so the earlier you get here for a Moonshine Burger, the better!
