If you’re going to tackle this trail - especially for the first time - you should go in the summer. Everything will be green and beautiful and you won’t have to worry about ice along the trail. What else is there to do in this area? Big Sky is best known for its ski area, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t also a fantastic playground for all types of people in the warmer months, too! You can do lots of other hiking in this area; one of the most popular short trails is to Ousel Falls which is just outside of the center of town. At the resort, you can take a scenic lift ride up the mountain to marvel at the incredible views, or play a round of golf at its Arnold Palmer, par-72, 18-hole golf course. Fly fishing and whitewater rafting are also very popular in this area as well, and you’re not far from Yellowstone National Park if you want to take a day trip to it!
