The 43-acre park is less than 10 miles from Jackson; however, you’d never know it. Green and serene, the grounds are stunning.

Park-goers can easily immerse themselves in the surroundings thanks to a 1-mile, paved, distance-marked walking trail.

Easily accessible and easy to navigate, the well-marked trail runs from the parking lot, past the lake to a mature hardwood forest at the rear of the park, so there’s plenty of shade throughout.

In addition to lots of shade, the trail boasts water stations to help hikers stay cool.

As the trail progresses through the wooded area, hikers are given the opportunity to learn about the surroundings via signs identifying native trees and plant species.

Plenty of shaded picnic spots and benches can be found along the trail as well as throughout the park, so if the heat gets too much to bear, you can sit down for a spell.
