Summer fun is going to be turned on its head and back again this summer at a new Wisconsin attraction. A Wisconsin Dells waterpark is opening a new waterslide that’s the first of its kind in the United States – it’s a rotating waterslide called a “slidewheel.” It takes waterpark fun to a new level, and if you love a great waterslide, you’ll definitely want to take the plunge. Here’s what you need to know about Medusa’s Slidewheel.

Mt. Olympus is a water and theme park located in one of the state’s biggest tourist areas – the Wisconsin Dells. Mt. Olympus is themed after ancient Greece and it includes numerous nods to Greek mythology – it’s named after the mountain where the gods were said to have lived.

The resort has been around for decades. It’s operated by a Greek-American family and it first opened as Big Chief Karts and Coasters before being renamed to Big Chief’s Mt. Olympus Theme Park in 2004.

Over the years the park evolved and expanded and it now sprawls across a huge area. There are some incredible outdoor attractions, including several thrilling roller coasters.

The park also helps back up the Wisconsin Dells slogan that it’s the Waterpark Capital of the World. The resort in 2016 added the Great Pool of Delphi, a 27,000-square-foot swimming pool containing 500,000 gallons of water.
