Medicine Creek runs through the middle of the town and is stocked yearly with trout, while two dams form the popular Bath Lake Swimming Hole. You can walk along bridges and trails for an afternoon of serenity. It’s so peaceful, you won’t want to leave.

There are dozens and dozens of small towns scattered all over the state, but some of them are so magical that they easily make the list as the “best”. Some of our favorites include Guthrie, Medicine Park, Broken Bow, and Sulphur. We also love Claremore, Pauls Valley, and Ada. Plus, if you’ve never been to Carlton Landing, you definitely should – it’s one of the newest small towns in the Sooner State, and it’s truly unique. You’ll love it! For more of our favorite small towns in Oklahoma, take a look at this list. What are some fun things to do in Oklahoma? The Sooner State is a lovely place for just about everyone; whether you prefer to stay within the larger cities or if your heart belongs in the country, you’re sure to find some wonderful things. For the city dwellers, you can’t miss a visit to the Philbrook Museum of Art, in Tulsa, and while you’re at it, you’ll want to check out the Oklahoma City Museum of Art as well. If museums are your thing, you’ll probably also love the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, which is incredibly educational and super fascinating. The more outdoorsy among us has reason to rejoice as well: Oklahoma is full of incredibly beautiful landscapes and scenery. Some of our favorite places include the breathtaking Chickasaw National Recreation Center, Broken Bow Lake and all its majesty, and Robbers Cave State Park, too. Believe it or not, there’s so many interesting places around here that it’s almost impossible to narrow them down to just a few. You could spend an entire day – or longer – at Oklahoma’s incredible Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees, Turner Falls, Lake Hefner, Lake Murray, and more. Camping in the Sooner State is incredible and a second-to-none experience, and our lakes and reservoirs are absolutely awe-inspiring. If you’re a fan of theme parks, Hurricane Harbor in Oklahoma City as another must-do attraction, and so is pretty much any of our state parks. Oklahoma is a much more interesting place than most people give it credit for; you’ve just got to know where (and how) to look!
