The little town of Casey needed a boost awhile back, and businessman Jim Bolin had the brilliant idea to get the town into the Guinness Book of World Records by creating several “World’s Biggest” items around town.

The record-breaking mailbox measures 5,743.41 cubic feet, and it’s designed to look exactly like a regulation, residential mailbox.

Visitors can climb the stairs inside the hollow support post to stand inside the mailbox itself.

Over in Alton, Illinois, you’ll find a statue of the world’s tallest man in Illinois. Robert Pershing Waldo was born in 1918 in Alton, Illinois and, to this day, is still the tallest man ever born. At the time of his death he weighed 490 pounds and stood at 8'11"! In Collinsville, Illinois, you’ll find the world’s largest ketchup bottle. This Collinsville water tower does much more than hydrate the town. At 170 feet tall, it draws attention from miles away and is a well-known landmark off Route 159. In the Windy City, there is the world’s largest Tiffany dome. Depicting the signs of the zodiac in fish scale-shaped Tiffany Favrile glass, the dome is 38 feet in diameter. The stained-glass masterpiece is at the Chicago Cultural Center. Finally, in Lincoln, there is the iconic “World’s Largest Railsplitter Covered Wagon.” With a total height of 24 feet, this statue attracts the attention of anyone who drives by. Just off Route 66, it depicts Abraham Lincoln reading while sitting in the front seat of the wagon.
