Logan, Utah is well-known across the state as being the home of Utah State University. However, this Utah town is much more and is the ultimate playground, particularly during the summer months. During this time of year, many college students have left, outdoor activities multiply, and the entire Cache Valley is green and beautiful. It’s no wonder that Logan is one of the best towns in America to visit when the weather is warm.
Logan is located in northern Utah and has a population of more than 50,000 people. However, individuals from all over the country are finding this town a charming place to reside and it is growing significantly every year.

Nature enthusiasts and those simply searching for some fresh air will find plenty to do in and near this Cache Valley town.
beth woodrum/Flickr For starters, we suggest a drive in Logan Canyon. You can take the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway, which will take you from Logan to Bear Lake. This scenic drive will give you incredible views of the river, canyon, and more.
The canyon is also home to dozens of hiking trails. The Wind Cave Trail is only six miles up Logan Canyon and is a 3.5-mile out-and-back trail. You’ll have a bit of a climb but the views and the final destination are worth every effort.

You can also spend the day at Tony Grove Lake. From July to mid-August, this area turns into a wildflower haven and is one of the best places in Utah to view wildflowers. You can also stay overnight at the Tony Grove Campground and take a walk around the lake on the nature trail.

Back in town, you can walk Main Street and visit several shops and cafes. Stop by the Bluebird Café, which opened its doors in 1923.

If you visit during the weekend, stop by the Cache Valley Gardener’s Market at the historic courthouse on Main Street. With dozens of vendors, live music, and more, this is the best place to spend your Saturday morning.
