Summer in the Peach State is hot. Is there anything better than beating the heat by escaping to a water park in Georgia? Yes, actually. You could go to a water park that’s also an amusement park. Our favorite amusement park in Georgia that fits this bill is Lake Winnepesaukah, which contains both a variety of family and thrill rides, but also has SOAKya Water Park, an aquatic adventure filled with a lazy river, water slides, and more. It’s tucked away just south of the state line with Tennessee, in the small town of Rossville, and is the perfect day trip for those looking to have a little fun in the sun but also a chance to cool off from the heat.
The name Lake Winnepesaukah is beautiful, and in case you were wondering, means “bountiful waters.” However, it’s also a bit of a mouthful, so the park is often referred to as Lake Winnie.
