Cracking open a menu and discovering 20 vastly different entrees can be overwhelming, especially when the dishes can range from country-fried steak to chimichangas. When you want to strip down your options and just get back to the basics, there’s one humble little eatery that’s known for having the best burgers in Louisiana, and they’re so good at it that it’s pretty much all they serve!

When you want an old-fashioned burger, Judice Inn is the answer.

George Tull/Google The neighborhood joint opened in 1947 after brothers Alcide and Marc Judice returned from WWII and wanted to open a restaurant. They built much of it themselves with the help of the family.

Now owned by the second generation, this family-owned and operated restaurant just entered its 75th year of business, and it’s all because of one thing…

…the burgers!

Judice Inn has a very small menu, specializing in their famous burgers.

Mark Johnson/Google These burgers are no-frills, all flavors - and it all starts with the special seasonings they put on all of their patties before layering them with shredded lettuce, their signature Judice sauce, mustard, mayo, and an onion slice. You can also add grilled onions, cheese, or an egg, but that’s about the only options you get!

And don’t expect any fries to go along with that burger.

Hungry Dudes/Flickr Judice Inn is known for two things:

  1. Having great burgers

  2. Not having fries

You won’t even miss them. Grab yourself a bag of Zapp’s chips in your favorite flavor.

Brandon Worley/Google The crunch of the chips pairs better with the burger, anyway!

An old-fashioned burger, some chips, and a glass bottle of Coke… sounds delicious right?
