Did you know that New Jersey’s outer coastal plain is ideal winemaking territory? While many of the region’s vineyards focus on sweet fruit wines, there are a few places growing classic grapes to make wine that can compete with anything coming out of Napa! One of these vineyards, Jessie Creek Winery, is a bayside escape for vinophiles in the Garden State.

Jessie Creek Winery opened in 2010 on a former vineyard that has been sitting relatively vacant on the shores of the Delaware Bay.

Today, Jessie Creek Winery grows grapes for Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a hybrid grape Chambourcin.
