Here at OnlyInYourState, we love spending the day outdoors and at many of the reservoirs around the state. However, there is one Utah reservoir that is a little more terrifying than others — Hobbs Reservoir. Also known as Hobbs Pond, this body of water is tucked away in a neighborhood near Layton and is believed to be haunted. Are you brave enough to visit?
You’ll find Hobbs Reservoir nestled near a neighborhood in east Layton. While there are a few different ways to reach this pond, we suggest taking the Kays Creek Parkway Trail.

Once you reach Hobbs Reservoir, you’ll be met with beautiful views from every angle. It really is in the most beautiful location.

While the Kays Creek Parkway Trail is public, the reservoir is privately owned. However, fishing and hiking around the pond are allowed. Swimming is forbidden and you may be issued a citation if caught.

However, this reservoir is much more than a place to walk beside and to fish from its shores. In fact, it is believed to be haunted.

The legend says that sometime in the 1970s, a strange undertow occurred in the water, drowning several people swimming in the pond. Today, it is those same spirits who haunt the reservoir.
