Nestled away in the Delaware and Fall Creek townships, not at all far from Indianapolis, there’s an adorable town perfect for a day trip getaway – especially if you prefer your getaways to be less crowded than the state capitol. Originally started in 1802, Fishers is – and has always been – the kind of place you dream of hanging your hat. With plenty to do and being just a hop, skip and a jump away from Indy, this day trip destination in Indiana is perfect for a solo traveler or a family outing.

Maybe it’s a bit misleading to refer to Fishers as a small town; after all, it was officially designated a “city” in 2015.

The town (city) of Fishers is beautiful, with rolling green hills, beautiful, endless fields, stunning blue skies, and all sorts of fun stuff to do and see.

Flat Fork Creek Park is great for birding and wildlife watching, too.

Other than the parks, there’s still much to be done (so maybe this town could also work as a full weekend trip, too).

If you’re a nature lover, you’ll have no shortage of things to do here - but if you’re a foodie or enjoy a good craft beer, you’ll love it in Fishers, too.

Finally, round out the adventure with something creative, like a trip to Ignite Art Studio.

Whether you’re an artist, a nature lover, a foodie, a history buff, or any combination of the four, Fishers is the place for you.
