After a long, scorching summer, we can hardly wait for the cooler days of autumn. We’re so excited for fall, that we recently created a fall foliage road trip so that we can drive through some of Utah’s most beautiful spots this season. The trick is knowing when the foliage will be at its peak. While it’s impossible to predict with 100 percent accuracy, the folks at SmokyMountains.com have created a Fall Foliage Prediction Map that gives us a hint.
The interactive Fall Foliage Prediction Map from Smoky Mountains has a slider underneath it so that you can see how the fall foliage will change throughout the country over the autumn months.

Fall Foliage Prediction Map for Utah September 18, 2022 Sarah M. What’s the best place to enjoy fall foliage in Utah? Utah might be best-known for its postcard-perfect winters, but fall is an equally resplendent season in the Beehive State. While there are many places to catch fall colors in Utah, Logan Canyon is arguably the best. During autumn, the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway offers a view of spectacular vistas that seem to radiate the gold, amber, and copper hues of the harvest. The canyon is full of aspens, which burst out in vibrant colors as the weather cools. The many evergreens in the canyon provide a dark green contrast to the rich autumn colors, making for a swoon-worthy nature scene that will necessitate pulling over the car to stop and enjoy. What are some scenic fall drives in Utah? The 34-mile Mount Nebo Scenic Byway to Payson is one of our favorite fall drives in Utah. You’ll wind your way along the byway, climbing 9,000 feet in the process. Enjoy stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains and Mount Nebo while you take your time on this scenic stretch of road! You can also drive around Provo Canyon for even more stunning foliage. This is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Utah during the fall months, and for more epic views, stop by nearby Bridal Veil Falls for a few photo opportunities! When framed by bold fall colors, there’s nowhere more beautiful in Utah! Of course, if you’re up for a longer adventure, we put together this itinerary for a fall foliage road trip through Utah that’s extraordinary. At 100 miles long, this fall trip visits stunning places like Big Cottonwood Canyon, Guardsman’s Pass, Midway, Herber Valley, and Sundance.
