Head as far south as the California border allows in order to find this incredible natural paradise. Otay Mountain Wilderness will blow you away with its mountain views and incredible trails. Check it out on your way down to Mexico or just take a day trip or weekend getaway. There is nothing quite like hiking on the Southern California border!
Take the Otay Mountain via Minnewawa and Otay Mountain Truck Trail for a real outdoor adventure. It’s a moderate trail, so it’s best for hikers with some experience, although you don’t need to be an expert.

This 12.4-mile hike is like an alternate universe all the way through. You’ll want to hike slowly to be able to take in all the amazing scenery around you while you’re here.
