For the first time in 18 years, you will have the opportunity to see five different planets align in the night sky over Massachusetts. And, yes, you’ll be able to see them with your naked eye! Be sure to get outside at least one night in the month of June for this remarkable celestial event.

Look up to the night sky starting June 3, 2022, to see the alignment of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. While light years away from Earth, you’ll be able to see these planets with your naked eye.

You’ll be able to view this ultra-rare celestial event before dawn from June 3rd through month’s end. On the 24th, Mercury will be at its lowest point and, therefore, the easiest to spot.

The five planets aligning are the closest ones to Earth, so it will be quite amazing to see!

A lineup of planets is known as a conjunction, but one of this magnitude with five planets only happens once every couple of decades. So, you better catch this one as the next one doesn’t happen until the year 2040.

So, how can you tell the planets from the stars? Well, the planets shine quite a bit brighter than the stars in the sky, so you should be able to spot them pretty easily.
