At only 4-miles in length, this particular trail takes you through some of the most beautifully rustic areas at Green Ridge State Forest. Today’s adventure is located at Green Ridge State Forest in Western Maryland. The forest covers 46,000 acres, offering spots for primitive camping, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and more.

And of course, don’t forget hiking! There are several trails for exploring the area, including a couple that are short and sweet. Twin Oaks Trail is one of those, at 4.3-miles in length.

This loop trail is said to be well-marked and moderate. You’re allowed to bring your pooch as long as they stay on a leash.

This adventure is also great for older kids, as much of the trek is flat but beware of some inclines, too. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes, however, for bumpier terrain and in case the ground is wet.
