The USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park’s main feature is the USS ALABAMA, a WWII battleship that retired in 1962. After schoolchildren helped raise money to save it, it was preserved and relocated to Mobile Bay in 1964.

Another feature of the park is the USS DRUM, a WWII submarine that once had a 72-member crew. Today, this submarine, which was donated to the park in 1969, is the oldest American submarine on public display.

Airplane enthusiasts will love getting to see the A-12 Black Bird, a secret spy plane. Used by the CIA in 1965 for many spy missions, this historic plane is 125 feet long and has a wing span of 65 feet.
