If you want to feel as if you’ve escaped to another world, but aren’t in the mood to take a long trip, plan to take an excursion to Lake Memphremagog in Vermont. Aside from being breathtaking to look at, Lake Memphremagog is truly unique because it’s one of the few glacial lakes in Vermont. In addition, it spreads from Newport, Vermont to Quebec, Canada.

As you’ll soon learn, although Lake Memphremagog is based in the northern part of the Green Mountain State, it’s definitely worth a trip.

While Lake Memphrémagog spans 31 miles on the surface, only 25 percent of this body of water is based in Vermont. In addition, only five out of the 21 islands on the lake are in Vermont.

Aside from fishing and taking a swim, plan to go on the water so you can experience heaven on earth from this vantage point.

When you pack up for your outing, remember to bring binoculars so you can catch some of the local wildlife in action.

In addition to the spectacular water views, one of the perks of visiting this slice of heaven is getting to see local wildlife.

Even though it’ll be colder outside, the views on Lake Memphrémagog are equally magical in the winter months.

Of course, during your visit to Lake Memphremagog, plan to stick around at the end of the day to watch the sunset.
