We think getting lost is an underrated activity — especially when it includes exploring one of the best corn mazes in Rhode Island. While it might not be for everyone, spending some time trying to find your way can be a great bonding activity for friends and family of all ages, and even more so if you know you’ll be able to find your way out should you panic. One great way to go about getting happily lost in a safe environment is by visiting an impressive corn maze, and there are a few great ones right here in our own backyard. Right now, we really love the corn maze at Escobar Farm, so add this fun outing to your list of things to do during fall in Rhode Island.

Almost every year, Escobar Farm in Portsmouth carves a massive image into their corn field and invites people to come and try to riddle their way out. No matter how many times you’ve visited, you’ll always find a new challenge and loads of excitement for the entire family.

The maze is cut out of eight acres worth of corn and is absolutely packed with all sorts of twists and turns. On a fall day, there’s no better place to make memories.

You can always call for rescue if need be, or try to use a map to get yourself out, but we think part of the fun is in the getting lost! There’s a real sense of accomplishment in venturing through the maze in its entirety.

Themes vary by year, but there’s a consistent attention to detail – so you can count on a well-crafted, well-planned maze year after year. It’s no wonder visitors have made Escobar Farms an element of their family’s fall traditions in Rhode Island.

Your dog is even welcome in the corn maze, so long as you keep them leashed and clean up after them! Maybe you’ll discover some navigation skills you didn’t know your four-legged best friend had.

There are also hay rides available for the whole family when weather allows. If it’s chilly, bundle up and get ready for a cozy ride through the farm. Hay rides will incur a small additional cost, but they’re so worth it.

On top of that, you can find a huge pumpkin patch and bring home a souvenir of your time at the farm. You’ll be all set for the season with a visit to this fantastic farm in Rhode Island.
