Some of New Jersey’s prettiest scenery can be found along the D&R Canal, which stretches straight across the state! If you’ve never taken the time to explore this 77-mile-long trail, it’s about time you did. Get out there and take in the sights – and then reward yourself with a delicious, gourmet meal at Eno Terra.

The Delaware and Raritan Canal is a landmark in New Jersey. It runs from New Brunswick all the way to the Delaware River and connects two of New Jersey’s most significant waterways.

A beautiful hiking and biking trail follows the canal for 77 miles, with an easily graded towpath being the most visited section of the trail.

One thing that draws many history buffs and nature lovers to the Tow Path section of the trail is that while you hike, you’re walking Washington’s path! The Revolutionary Army made its way through here during the most pivotal moments of the American Revolution.

Just north of Princeton on Route 27 – and one of the most visited sections of the Tow Path trail - a beautiful restaurant sits overlooking the water, inviting day hikers and explorers in for an incredible meal.

We love Noodle Gourmet in New Brunswick, which is a true hole-in-the-wall spot that’s drawn quite a loyal following. In South Jersey, the Library II steakhouse is an unsuspecting gourmet experience. Down the shore, Hank Sauce is more than just a hot sauce brand - it’s a tiny restaurant that’s big on flavor. If you’d like us to try out your favorite hidden gem restaurant in New Jersey, nominate it right here. What are the most beautiful and scenic New Jersey restaurants? The Walpack Inn is located in one of the most scenic spots in New Jersey, but if you’re looking for beautiful views, there are plenty of other places to visit. Grounds for Sculpture is home to Rat’s Restaurant in Hamilton, and there are always plenty of waterfront dining rooms with breathtaking views along the New Jersey shore. Most of New Jersey’s parks are close to towns, and that’s one benefit of living in a densely populated state. If you’re strolling along the dune trails in Island Beach State Park, you’re not too far from the best wings in New Jersey.
