Glamping in Texas October 03, 2022 Sarah M. What are some other places for glamping in Texas? For those who want to immerse themselves in the great outdoors of the Lone Star State – minus the not-so-great realities that come with primitive camping, glamping in Texas is a great option. (That’s why we adore the log cabin treehouse featured above!) One of our favorite places to go for Texas glamping is Camp Comfort. Located between Fredericksburg, Boerne, and Kerrville, and mere minutes from San Antonio, Camp Comfort is the perfect getaway in Central Texas. It’s the kind of charming little town you’ll visit and not want to leave; luckily, there’s a wonderful little campground you can call home for as long as you’d like. Originally a historic bowling alley built in 1860, Camp Comfort was converted into what’s now one of the most unique accommodations in Texas. The campground houses four rooms and two cabins, with a central courtyard comprised of fire pits and a social hall with tables and chairs, a coffee bar, and fresh cookies served daily to all guests. It’s the classic communal campground experience in a wholly unique and wonderful little package that’s as charming as it gets. For more “glamping” than camping, Onera is the way to go. Despite being less than a mile from historic downtown Fredericksburg, Onera offers a blissful escape from reality. This luxury Hill Country escape is surrounded by nature, yet offers all the amenities of a five-star hotel – and then some. The nine lodging options are all unique, ranging from a retro airstream to a treehouse. Soak in your own private outdoor tub, detox in a barrel sauna, and listen to the sights and sounds of the forest – luxuries that work in perfect harmony with the surrounding Hill Country landscape.
