There’s nothing like a day spent in Kentucky nature; our state truly is a natural beauty that deserves to be admired and appreciated… often! One of the best ways to do this is to explore one of our myriad outstanding state parks, and while there are many tried-and-true favorites, one of our most treasured places is this overlooked Kentucky State Park. Home to abundant flora and fauna, as well as a thriving wetlands ecosystem, the John James Audubon State Park is one of the most peaceful and pristine places to stroll, walk, and hike in Kentucky.

Kentucky is home to 45 state parks that each offer unique scenery, topography, natural features, and amenities. And while we adore all of our fine state parks, there are some that steal the show, and others that remain stubbornly under the radar.
