Did you know that some spots in New Jersey are older than our country itself? It’s incredible to realize that buildings have truly stood the test of time. Among them is the Deerfield Presbyterian Chruch in Bridgeton, New Jersey. It’s one of the oldest churches in the country and remains just as beautiful to this day.

The beautiful Deerfield Presbyterian Church in Upper Deerfield was built in southern New Jersey in the late 1700s. While the exact construction date is debated, most historians agree that the building was completed in 1771.

That means this gorgeous building is more than 250 years old! It’s still an active church and considered one of the oldest in the entire country.

Outside of the historic church, a beautiful graveyard tells the tale of the area. Gravestones that date back to the 1700s and 1800s are scattered between more modern plots.
