Best Hikes in Florida April 03, 2022 Tori Jane What are the most amazing scenic hikes in Florida? Florida is a ridiculously beautiful state – it’s no wonder it just happens to be one of the premier vacation destinations in the United States (if not the world)! Most people appreciate Florida for the mild weather and incredible beaches, but did you know it’s the perfect state for enjoying a great hike in, too? It’s true – there are lots of hiking trails in Florida, and each of them is worth a try for its own reasons. Some of our favorites include the 75-mile strip of the Florida National Scenic Trail that goes through Ocala National Forest; that stretch of Florida’s longest trail is considered the most amazing, and you’ll quickly see why. Then, check out the Dune Trail at Blowing Rocks, which is found on Jupiter Island. Often called Florida’s most beautiful little island, this hike features excellent shoreline and bluffs views. Be sure to also add the Jupiter Creek Nature Trail in Ocala to your bucket list; it’s 1.4 miles of amazing trailblazing you’ll never forget (and it’s a lot shorter than many hikes in Florida). Finally, check out the Myakka Canopy Walk at Myakka River State Park. It’s easily one of the best things to do in Sarasota! Who knew that there are so many delightful hiking trails in Florida? What are some great easy hikes in Florida? With more than 2,300 epic hiking trails to choose from weaving all over the state, Florida is one of those places perfect for beginner hikers. Of those 2,300 trails, about 1,900 of them are considered easy, likely thanks to the mostly-flat terrain of the Sunshine State. We have many favorite easy hikes, like the Kolokee Loop Trail at Little Big Econ State Forest. It’s five miles long and is often named among the American Hiking Society’s most family-friendly hikes. Head to Wekiwa Springs State Park and embark upon the 6.3-mile, stunning lake and forest hike that is the Wekiwa Springs Volksmarch Trail, and finally, do yourself a favor and conquer the short-and-sweet Anhinga Trail at Everglades National Park. There are many more hikes to pick from, but these are all excellent places to start.
