Ever since becoming an “It” city, Nashville has been absolutely stuffed to the gills with more people than you can shake a stick at. With so many people, it’s harder and harder to escape from the crowds and enjoy the natural beauty in Tennessee. One farm in Murfreesboro is trying to encourage just that: for folks to come out, enjoy the outdoors, and increase their appreciation for agriculture. How do they do that, you ask? By planting the largest sunflower field you’ve ever seen. It’s one of the best flower fields in Tennessee, and we are obsessed. Check it out!

Batey Farms in Murfreesboro is only a short drive outside of Nashville, but it’s easily one of the most overlooked places in the area.

Each year, the farm plants a crop of sunflowers that can cover as many as 40 acres! If you don’t know what that means, practically, just keep scrolling.

40 acres is a lot of sunflowers, and that’s an immense understatement. It’s one of the most beautiful and unique sights in all of Tennessee.

The sunflowers grow all spring and summer until they bloom in full sometime between early July and mid-August.

Entrance to the flower farm is free, but donations are appreciated. The cost to pick the flowers has historically been $1 per stem, but this number is subject to change.

Flower Fields in Tennessee August 02, 2022 Tori Jane Are there many sunflower fields in Nashville?   There most certainly are! As it turns out, there are lots of amazing places to see sunflowers in Tennessee, including in and around the Nashville area. One of our favorite sunflower fields in Nashville is the Menkveld Farm, in Nolensville, which is open to the public from June through October and offers up some of the most beautiful sunflowers near Nashville. We also love Red River Farms, in Springfield, which is known for its sunflower festival in July and the amazing fields of flowers you can come visit all summer and autumn long. Best of all, it’s close – only about a half hour from Nashville.   What are some farms near Nashville I can visit?   Who knew Nashville was such an excellent destination for folks who can’t get enough of the farm life? Okay… maybe a lot of people. But still, the point stands: there are plenty of farms near Nashville that you can visit which are open to the public. Check out Smyrna’s Bloomsberry Farm, which hosts Farm Fridays on – you guessed it – every Friday. It’s a family-oriented farmers market where you can get the freshest fruits, veggies, and even sometimes sunflowers! Also, be sure to do the pick-your-own experience at Kelley’s Berry Farm in Castalian Springs. Beginning in May is strawberry season, and that’s when the farm opens. You can also pick your own blueberries, raspberries, peaches, and blackberries.   Where can I find fields of sunflowers in Tennessee?  Tennessee is definitely one of the most beautiful states in the country, and it has no shortage of amazing sunflower fields to peruse when the season calls for it. Some of our favorite places for sunflowers in Tennessee include farms like Lucky Ladd Farm, in Eagleville, Liberty Grace Farms, in Columbia, and Naramore Farms, in Kingston. Of course, the list doesn’t stop there – but those ought to give you plenty of great head-starts on sunflower season.
