Walla Walla is officially the best wine region in the USA (for the third year running) and was listed as one of Forbes’ 22 Best Places To Travel In The U.S. In 2022. And that’s just the beginning. When it comes to travel destinations, Walla Walla is seemingly always in the spotlight these days.
But recent fame aside, Walla Walla is just a charming small town we’re proud to have in Washington. It also happens to be the hometown of one of the most beloved and best-known celebrities of the 20th century, Adam West.
Walla Walla is located in the southeast corner of Washington.

But here’s something many people don’t know about Walla Walla: it was the birthplace of the late great actor Adam West.

West lived in Walla Walla for all of his childhood, attending Walla Walla High School (like football player Drew Bledsoe) for two years before moving to Seattle at 15 with his mother after his parents divorced.
Walla Walla High School / Facebook West’s mother, Audrey Volenne, had actually been an opera singer, so he decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps and go to Hollywood. And after graduating from Whitman College, he did.
Adam West was known for a lot of roles, but many of us know him as the best Batman ever.

West passed away in 2017 at the age of 88.
