Palace Playland Amusement Park / Facebook While not entirely a water park, Palace Playland is a Maine institution. Located in Old Orchard Beach, the park covers four acres right next to the beach. In fact, it’s the only park in New England located right on the beach. Rides, including the Galaxi Coaster and Cascade Falls, officially open on Memorial Day Weekend, and is something Mainers look forward to all year. Classic rides, beautiful beach scenery, and an epic waterpark? What more could you ever want? Palace Playland, 1 Old Orchard St, Old Orchard Beach, ME 04064, USA

  1. Seacoast Adventure, Windham

Seacoast Adventure / Facebook You may know Seacoast Adventure as a place to enjoy dry rides and winter tubing, but as of last summer they’ve entered the water world! In addition to a Great Apes Adventure Park and a variety of other dry activities, little ones will enjoy “Shipwreck Cove.” While the majority of the park is open now, Shipwreck Cove will open sometime in mid-June. This is a total underrated attraction in the summer that’s fun for the whole family! Seacoast Adventure, 930 Roosevelt Trail, Windham, ME 04062, USA

  1. Aquaboggan Water Park, Saco

Kim Morin Hauschild / Facebook A nostalgic favorite in the Pine Tree State, Aquabogganhas been entertaining Maine families young and old for over 35 years. Grab a tube and zip across the Stealth 5 if you’re adventurous, or stay closer to ground in the Giant Wave Pool. Either way, everyone in the family will find something to enjoy. The park gives visitors the best of both worlds. Funtown Ridepark offers dry family-friendly rides, kiddie rides and thrill rides. These include the awesome Excalibur Wooden Rollercoaster and the Sock It To ‘Em Bumper Cars. Splashtown Water Park is a must-visit for hot, summer days. If you’re looking for good, old-fashioned family fun in Maine, this is it! Funtown Splashtown USA, 774 Portland Rd, Saco, ME 04072, USA

Waterparks in Maine May 29, 2022 Sarah M. What are some other kid-friendly summer activities in Maine? As the above list of best waterparks in Maine can attest, the Pine Tree State was basically made for family fun! From beach trips to hiking adventures, there’s no better place in America to have fun with those you love. And, of course, friends are included in this group of people we love. Throughout the year, it’s easy to find activities to enjoy but we’re always on the lookout for those we haven’t tried yet. This one, a high-flying (but totally kid-friendly!) adventure park opens for the season each spring and we always look forward to it. Take Flight Aerial Adventure Park in Kittery, Maine, is so large and impressive that it can be seen right from the road. So, there’s a good chance you’ve already see it and wondered just what it was. Definitely stop next time you’re driving by… it’s one of the best family-friendly day trip adventuress in Maine. The park offers a huge adventure course with more than 65 activities including catwalks, lots of things that swing, and more than a dozen cargo nets, so everyone in your party is sure to have a good time. What are some fun things to do during the summer in Maine? The lazy days of summer are here and we couldn’t be more excited. Beach trips are high on our list of activities, but in a place like Maine there are so many other options! We’ve been planning hikes that end in crystal clear beaches, water slide waterfalls, and fun walks in our own neighborhood. But, one of our favorite ways to enjoy a lazy summer day is by heading to the many rivers for tubing in Maine. If you’re looking to shake up the classic Maine waterpark experience, grab a tube and plan a float out on one of our state’s myriad lazy rivers. Some of our favorites family-friendly options include the Stroudwater River, Presumpscot River, Royal River, Saco River, Crooked River, and Ogunquit River.
