The state’s median property crime rate is a good bit higher than the national rate. The violent crime rate in West Virginia also tends to exceed the national average. (However, it should be noted that there are plenty of safe cities in West Virginia.) A dwindling job market is also among the cons of living in West Virginia. There are few high-paying professional opportunities in the state, resulting in many younger people leaving the state. Where is the best place to live in West Virginia? When it comes to the best places to live in West Virginia, Bridgeport ranks pretty high up there. The small town of roughly 8,600 boasts a lengthy history (it was chartered in 1816!) as well as lots of other perks.
